It is a basic experimental model to demonstrate the thermal expansion of solids. Under normal conditions, the ball passes through the ring without any problems. If the ball is heated and the ring is cold, it cannot pass through it. However, if the ball and the ring have the same heat conditions, that is, if both are hot or both are cold, the ball can pass through the ring. The gravzante ball is connected to the mechanism mounted on a fixed three-legged stand with the help of a chain. The brass ring also remains fixed on the mechanism in the same way.
The 25 mm diameter brass ball and ring are mounted on single-handled rods. The rods are also mounted on the three-legged support mechanism so that they can move up and down. It is used to demonstrate thermal expansions. The ball will pass through the ring when it is cold, but will not pass after it is heated.
It is among the materials used in experiments conducted for heat and temperature education and training in physics and science laboratories of schools.
