In this study, you can observe the colors produced by certain metallic ions when they vaporize in a flame. Instead of identifying unknown metallic ions with the flame test, you can observe the color change of electrons as the light waveforms jump from one wave to another.
This experimental study observes the reactions to independent and dependent variables, allowing alcohol to be the dependent variable and various metallic ions added to it to be the independent variables. The reaction occurs when chemicals are ignited together.
The colored flames experiment kit comes in a styrofoam case and cardboard box. The kit also includes a manual explaining the materials and contents of the experiment.
