Description

Steel wool is a sponge-like material composed of fine steel fibers. Its high surface area increases the chemical reactivity of iron (Fe), making it ideal for many interesting and educational experiments. It is particularly suitable for demonstrating topics such as corrosion, combustion (oxidation), and exothermic/endothermic reactions.

Caution: Steel wool is highly flammable. Experiments should preferably be conducted in a chemistry laboratory under the supervision of a teacher. Furthermore, the fine fibers can prick the hands and cause minor cuts. It is recommended to wear gloves during experiments and avoid excessive contact with the steel wool with bare hands.
