It is a complete set offering a comprehensive range of optical experiments including reflection, refraction and color mixing.

The light source is designed around a holder-mounted light box from a 12V, 24W vertical flat filament lamp and is equipped with air ducts to prevent it from overheating. It has an adjustable lens that can be adjusted towards one end to produce convergent, divergent or parallel light beams, and the other end has a triple aperture system for color mixing experiments. Adjustable hinged mirrors on both sides of the box make color mixing of all three beams easy. All openings in the box are equipped with vertical channels to hold slit plates and color filters.

It is powered by connecting a two-core flexible connection cable terminated with a pair of 4 mm banana plugs to a low voltage AC power supply.

• Set of 3 Mirrors. Highly bright reflecting surfaces and free standing. Each includes parabolic, semicircular and plane glass (mounted on the stand).
• Set of 2 slit plates, one narrow slit with three narrow slits, and one wide slit with the other four narrow slits.
• Included in the set and mountable on the optical light box A set of 8 color filters: 3 primary colors (red, blue and green) and 5 secondary colors (cyan, purple, orange, yellow and magenta).

All finger-grip cylindrical and parabolic mirrors in the optics set allow their use without touching the active optical surfaces. The bottoms of all diffraction components are frosted to minimize internal reflections and reveal the light path it travels through.

The optical light set has the set housed in molded foam for long-lasting storage. A spare bulb inside the foam is also included.
