The Baume Meter is a density measuring device that operates on the principle of buoyancy. It features a weighted glass tube, which when immersed in a liquid, indicates the approximate density by showing which line the liquid surface reaches. Pure water registers as 0 degrees Baume, while other liquids can be calculated using standard formulas:
For liquids denser than water: Density = 145 / (145 − degrees Baume)
For liquids less dense than water: Density = 140 / (130 + degrees Baume)
This tool is ideal for chemical laboratories, quality control, and educational demonstrations where rapid density assessment is required.
Usage Areas:
Determining liquid density in laboratories
Quality control in chemical and industrial solutions
Educational demonstrations of buoyancy principles
Advantages:
Provides quick, visual density readings
Glass construction ensures chemical resistance
Compact and easy to use in laboratory workflows
Comes with a plastic container for safe storage
Technical Specifications:
